The missing questions that will move you forward
Stress doesn’t just come from what we do — it mostly comes from what we don’t feel and what we don’t ask. And honestly, most people don’t ask you anything. Not the real stuff. Not the truth that moves you. They ask what your holiday plans are. But nothing about you. They stay in their heads, busy doing — as if they must finish everything first before they’re finally allowed to rest, feel joy, or taste freedom. But that moment rarely comes on its own.
Science shows
Open questions activate a key part of your brain (the anterior cingulate cortex) that brings calm, creates space, and makes new decisions possible. So… just an honest, open question, like:
“Are you still happy with your body / job / relationship?”
“What’s your plan with this pace?”
“When will you finally do what you’ve been longing to do?”
“What are you hoping to achieve with this behavior?”
“What have you secretly been missing for a while now?”
“What do you want to be different six months from now?”
“What would happen if you did nothing for a weekend?”
“Do you have something on the calendar you’re truly excited about?”
“When will you finally say No — or Yes?”
The Solution
One good question can do more than a ten-step plan. Why? Because the body responds. A pause. A feeling. A direction. That’s where real action begins. Not everyone can handle these questions. But if you want to truly help someone today — don’t ask “How are you?”
Ask: “What is actually your desire — and your plan for that — right now?”
Because health doesn’t start with discipline. It starts with connection and a question that moves you into action.
What’s the most powerful open question you’ve ever been asked — or asked someone else?
Something to chew on, and then ask it — you might get an answer and that could just change your life.
